Paykan has been drawn in Pool B, along with Ahly Sporting Club of Egypt and UPCN San Juan of Argentina, while Pool A consists of host Sada Cruzeiro, Zenit Kazan of Russia and Arecibo Capitanes Club of Puerto Rico.
“We have a difficult job ahead of the FIVB Volleyball Men’s Club World Championship," Peykan coach Peyman Akbari said. "This event will bring the world’s best teams (and players) together, just like Zenit Kazan, which will participate in the competition with superstars Matthew Anderson and Wilfredo Leon.
The three teams in each pool will play each other in a Round Robin system, followed by the semifinals and finals.
Paykan will open the competition with a match against Ahly Sporting Club on October 27 and will play UPCN on October 29.
